If you’re not new to my blog, you know already I’m loving Trunk Club for Women. (You can find full reviews here and here). Trunk Club is such an easy way to refresh your wardrobe and only costs what you keep! They also have specialty boxes they offer on occasion. And when I got an email about the fitness trunk, I was all over it.
I’m not a gym junkie, but I am a work at home mom so expanding my athleisure wardrobe has been a priority. What better way to do it than with a specialized fitness trunk? I told my stylist “yes” and I was pleasantly surprised. Here’s a peek at everything that was inside my fitness trunk.
Fitness Trunk: What I Kept
As you can see, this trunk was good. SO good! I ended up keeping quite a bit like the Nike Free RN Running Shoe, which I recommend sizing up in because they run quite small. I also kept all of the leggings in the trunk: the Alo Vitality Mesh Inset Leggings are my absolute favorite and I get compliments on them ALL the time! You can size down and they do bunch on the bottom a bit but I like that look. They also come in black and black/nude.
I also kept the Nike Leg a See Print Jersey Leggings (true to size) and the Zella Live In Optic Long Crop Leggings, which are a fantastic price at under $60 for a cute pair of crop leggings. I’ve been eyeing a super similar pair of Lululemon mesh leggings, which are well over $100, so I couldn’t resist scooping these up!
Both Alo Yoga and Zella make some pretty great leggings. They have one of those little pockets for your key, although I definitely don’t use it for my keys and not sure who does. I do, however, find it convenient for stashing a little doggie trash bag for when I take Lola out on walks with me.
Out of the tops, I only kept the Nike Dri FIT Long Sleeve Top since our weather is cooling down now

Fitness Trunk: What I Sent Back
I was tempted to keep more than what I did, but I felt pretty content with my fitness trunk haul and parted ways with a few things. The Nike Dri FIT Seamless Racerback Tank (now 25% off and in pink!) was a really great fit, but I hated the color green as I tend to workout in all-black. I loved the Nike Dri FIT Seamless Racerback Tank, which has such a cute strappy back perfect for those cutout tanks, but this wasn’t a great fit. At the end of the day, bras can be easier to try on and buy in-person.
The Madewell Transport Leather Tote was gorgeous. Gorgeous! I didn’t keep it because I have 1,000 bags and couldn’t see myself taking something so nice to the gym. To be honest, I may buy it in the future because it’s truly the perfect buttery leather tote and such a great price. Plus, it comes in brown, too.
The Zella Speedster Running Shorts were cute but a little too short for my liking. I can be a bit picky about my shorts, especially gym shorts, and want enough coverage I don’t have to worry about stretching certain ways. I also returned the Zella Colorblock Cocoon Cardigan. Honestly, I think this piece is quite fun, but it is very fashion-girl. In other words, my husband hated it.
Fitness Trunk Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a basic fitness wardrobe builder, the fitness trunk is fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised by the price point since a lot of people tend to be worried about how much Trunk Club costs. But remember, you’re paying the exact same price as if you went into Nordstrom, but having the convenience of it personally picked out for you and shipped to your door. And if something goes on sale, you get the sale price, too.
I would absolutely recommend getting a fitness trunk or any of the other specialty trunks Trunk Club comes out with. I know they had a holiday trunk, too, and a work wardrobe builder but since I work from home I didn’t need that. Athleisure, however, was a total win for me!
You can sign up for Trunk Club here and get $50 for every friend you refer, too. It costs you nothing to join and get a box, and you only pay for what you keep! So it’s a win-win program in my book.
