Pregnancy Must-Haves for Mom
A lot of prenatal exercise DVDs just plain suck. They treat you like you’re totally fragile and include a lot of “Yay, belly!” chanting. If you’re looking for a great prenatal workout, regardless of your current shape, give Suzanne Bowen’s Slim & Toned Prenatal Barre Workout a try. It gets the job done without treating you like a delicate flower and you can use this workout postpartum, too.
Ingrid & Isabel tanks are an absolute must own maternity essential. They are 100% worth the price and I wore them to death when I was barely showing right up until I delivered. These Ingrid & Isabel tanks are unbelievably soft, supportive and flattering. And, you can get them at Target, too! They’re sold under the Be Maternity label and so comfy, you’ll want to stock up on a few in every color.
Lather up! Stretch marks are hereditary and although there isn’t solid proof that lathering up will help stave off those momma stripes, that doesn’t stop most of us from trying anyway. Plus, when your skin is stretching, it will get dry and itchy. Protect it with some Bio Oil, which is packed with Vitamin E and helps protect that baby bump.
There’s nothing like a good warm soak when you’re feeling tired, big and bloated. You’re weight-free in the water and a good salt soak in Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salt Soaking Solution is just what the doctor ordered. I love this lavender scented one which is so relaxing and the epsom salts really do help with stiff joints and all that lower back pain.
If you’re a first time mom, you may be buying every pregnancy book under the sun and some are downright scary!! The Girlfriends’ Guide to Pregnancy totally isn’t, and really is like having lunch with your BFF and having her tell you all the glam and not-so-glam details. Skip the spooky books and try this instead.
6. Rub it:
Tummy Butter. But wait, didn’t I already recommend something to rub on that belly? Yes I did, that’s not your pregnancy brain fooling you. Bio Oil is fantastic (for nighttime) but sometimes when you’re running out the door there’s not enough time to lather up some oil, let it dry and then get dressed. I used Mama Mio Tummy Rub Butter and saved the Bio Oil for night. They also have this sweet Mama Mio Your Pregnancy Essentials Kit that’s worth a try that comes with their Pregnancy Boob Tube (another product I loved), Gorgeous Glow Balancing Facial Wash and Lucky Legs, a treatment to help soothe sore gams and swollen feet.
Any pregnancy must-haves for mom you’d add to this list?
