Your 2023 Guide to Abercrombie Jeans
Abercrombie & Fitch jeans are definitely having a moment. So I took it upon myself to put together this Abercrombie jeans review for you and include all the nitty gritty details on the different styles in this blog post.
That’s right, I ordered and tried on 6 different pairs of the most popular Abercrombie denim styles so you can see how they fit, the quality, sizing details and more in this ultimate guide.

Abercrombie & Fitch 90s Straight Ultra-High Rise Jeans
The first pair of jeans I’m sharing are the 90s Straight Ultra High-Rise Jeans, shown here in the light wash.
These are made from the A&F vintage stretch denim. This particular pair is the most stiff of the roundup, however, they are still soft and they are not as stiff as Levi’s.
That being said, the jeans don’t have a lot of stretch either so they won’t loosen up and sag throughout the day.
The 90s Straight Ultra High-Rise Jeans are the highest rise jeans Abercrombie makes. I have a longer torso so “high-rise jeans” aren’t always “high” on me, but these are! They actually cover my belly button and most high-rise jeans don’t.
A few more details to note:
- These come in 5 different lengths (I am 5’4 and wearing regular)
- They are made of 99% cotton and 1% elastin
- Fit is true to size
I have two side-by-side photos here showing these jeans both in the size 25 and size 26. As you can see, the difference is pretty nominal. Though if you plan on wearing these jeans with a crop top, definitely size up.
Fit Details
These straight leg jeans are excellent if you love skinny jeans but are looking for a new, updated and on-trend style denim for 2022. They are a looser fit throughout the leg and a more relaxed, straight leg style.
There is no gaping in the back at the waist, which high-rise jeans often have, and they fit well throughout the leg and hip.
The regular length is great for me (I’m 5’4), however, if the intent is to wear them with flats then I’d recommend ordering these in “Short”. I intend on wearing these with boots or heels, so this length is perfect.
Both sizes fit great, so I recommend getting what is more comfortable on the waist. The difference at the leg and on the length were’t enough on the smaller size to keep them. Overall, I highly recommend!

Abercrombie & Fitch Curve Love Ultra High-Rise 90s Straight Jean Review
People RAVE about Abercrombie Curve Love Jeans. And although I’m pretty straight throughout the hips, I wanted to give them a try.
The difference between the regular Abercrombie & Fitch Jeans vs. the Curve Love jeans is that with the latter, there is an extra 2” through the hip and thigh area.
This is meant to help eliminate the dreaded waist gap, especially in high-waist jeans!
For me, the extra 2” of fabric was definitely noticeable and not in a flattering way. However, these jeans are not meant for my body type, I solely purchased them for review purposes and to try them out.
Ultimately, I think these jeans would look amazing and are a great option if you need more room around the hip area as they really do accentuate curves. The fabric is the same quality, there is a large size range and they also come in 5 length options!
On me:
Curve Love Ultra High-Rise 90s Straight Jean (Light Wash)
The angled button is SUPER on-trend right now….but I absolutely hated it. I do think the cut cinches the waist, but ultimately that waistband is not for me.
The second pair of Abercrombie Curve Love Jeans I ordered were in the Medium Destroy Wash. Ultimately, I did not find these jeans to be flattering on me at all.
They are a straight leg style with plenty of room throughout the legs, hips and thighs. Like the other Curve Love pair, I felt they were pretty snug on the waist compared to the regular A&F jeans.
They also feel like they have a shorter inseam overall. These were definitely a no for me.
Fit Details
- Size up, the 25s were definitely too small on these
- Denim was soft but won’t stretch. A little stiffer than other styles.
- Straight leg style is looser throughout the leg and does have some extra fabric at the knees.
Abercrombie 90s Ultra High Rise Straight Ankle Crop
Out of all of the jeans in this Abercrombie & Fit jeans review, the 90s Ultra High-Rise Straight Ankle Crop were my absolute favorite! These were by far the best fit on me and you’ll love these if you’re shopping for ankle length jeans.
These jeans literally fit like a glove: they are perfectly slim throughout the waist and hip, there’s no gaping in the back and they are a straight crop style. Talk about a perfect fit!
At my height (5’4”) I have difficulty finding ankle crop jeans that fit well. I ordered these in the regular length and they actually fit great!
Like the other jean styles in this Abercrombie jeans review, these come in a variety of inseam lengths so you’re likely to find something that fits and flatters.

I ordered these both in the Medium Destroy wash and in the Light Wash. I’m a big fan and am keeping both of them!
Interesting sizing note: the Medium Destroy watch fits better in the 25 while the Light Wash fits better in the 26.
If you’re used to skinny jean styles and you want to dip your toes into the latest denim trends, I highly recommend trying these jeans. They are a great fit throughout the waist and hips and there isn’t any gaping in the back.
Abercrombie High Rise Mom Jean Review
I thought the Abercrombie high rise mom jeans were part of my order but I accidentally forgot about this!
That being said, I do own the jean shorts in the mom jean style and absolutely love them.
They are a high-rise jean and feature a raw hem (depending on the wash you choose).
If you like a high-rise skinny jean, you’ll love the Abercrombie’s mom jean. They fit slim throughout the hips, waist and thighs and are just a slight straight leg style.

Are Abercrombie Jeans Worth it?
So, are Abercrombie & Fitch jeans worth the hype! Yup, they sure are!
It’s really hard to find a pair of great-fitting jeans. With Abercrombie’s inclusive sizing and style options, it’s likely you’ll find something you love.
I love that Abercrombie now has jeans suitable for many different body types, and the quality of the jeans is good, too.
What’s more, Abercrombie jeans are really affordable. They are generally priced under $100, though I like to snag these when they go on sale.
